Technological prospection of anti-inflammatory vanilic acid activity, with emphasis on its semisynthetic derivative Isopropyl Vanilate

Inflammation is the body's response to harmful stimuli such as infections, trauma, or injury. The inflammatory cascade can lead development of numerous diseases, and current drug-therapeutic intervention consists use corticosteroids non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. However, these associated with several serious side effects, so it necessary search for new alternatives that minimize this effect. In prospecting, objective was conduct a study on biological activities already described vanillic acid, special emphasis its semi-synthetic derivative isopropyl vanylate an agent. For this, information obtained patent documents based INPI, USPTO EPO databases, using keywords: agents, vanylate, always used in field related summary works. As results present technological prospection study, found international databases theme were very scarce some had higher number patents, few refer anti- inflammatory, no vanillate agent, reinforcing innovative character research involving technology.
